WE ARE HERE TO SERVE
These are challenging times. Executive Orders are being issued daily. State and local edicts are coming fast and furious. Access to courts and government services have been reduced or severely limited. We are all hunkering down in response to the spread of the COVID-19 virus. These changes are challenging for all of us and creating a new reality for many of us.
In light of court closings, hearings are not being scheduled and non-emergency cases are stalled. This creates particular challenges for individuals going through the process of divorce. However, there are alternatives to the courts. Collaborative Divorce and Divorce Mediation are excellent alternatives to the litigation process. Collaborative Divorce and Mediation can successfully occur through virtual methods, and allow you to proceed with your divorce outside the courtroom. Of course, not all cases should go to mediation, however, most cases can be resolved successfully through Mediation or Collaborative Divorce.
If you are interested in pursuing Mediation or Collaborative Divorce, or wish to learn more about these options, please call my office to arrange a consultation. I am a trained Mediator and Collaborative Attorney. My divorce practice is dedicated solely to non-adversarial divorce. My goal is to help families transition through the divorce process in a manner which preserves the parties’ relationship as much as possible, puts the best interests of the children first, and provides resources and tools to help.
COVID-19 is also impacting individuals trying to purchase, sell or rent a home. Economic uncertainty, social distancing, and executive orders are creating unique challenges and opportunities. The legal, judicial, banking and real estate communities are working to resolve these challenges and smooth the way for real estate transactions to proceed uninterrupted. Specific contract provisions are being developed, remote signings are being considered, and my office is providing services with appropriate precautionary measures. In an effort to comply with current orders and attempting to minimize the spread of the virus, I am practicing “social distancing” for the safety of my clients, my staff, other professionals, myself and my family. Consults and meetings are being conducted telephonically, or via Zoom, and I am always available via email. Closings will continue with appropriate precautionary measures in place as long as possible. Specific arrangements will be discussed with each individual client.
Estate services, e-filings, and essential document signings are also continuing with appropriate precautionary measures in place. Specific arrangements will be discussed with each individual client. If you have questions or wish additional information, please call my office to arrange a consultation.
